All Project schedulers Using MS Project Professional 2013 version for project scheduling and tracking. Status reporting by execution team and other departments to scheduler was off the system.
Schedulers used to spend lot of time to compile MIS reports from tracked schedule.
Cash flow report used to get compiled manually using tracked schedule and SAP cost data.
Implemented our Task tracking module i.e. integrated their project management software i.e. MS Project with their emailing software i.e. MS Outlook. Now task reporting is done through Outlook.
We deployed reporting module, developed in VBA, which generates all MIS reports at a click of a button.
We mapped SAP financial info into MS Project schedule and developed programs to generate monthly Cash Flow.
Now task reporting is automated and works in background. Scheduler are relieved from rigorous followup work.
Schedulers can use their time, which they used to spend in MIS reports generation, in planning and coordinating with other stakeholders
Same with Cash flow generation.
Now organization have deployed surplus staff to other new projects.
